What Midjourney can leave behind.

Midjourney images do not always carry an obvious "I am AI" stamp, but they are usually not totally clean either. Newer Midjourney exports increasingly carry Content Credentials. Discord downloads sometimes preserve a Software tag in the file. And even on stripped images, the statistical structure of a Midjourney render is different from a camera-captured photograph, which is what our visual analysis looks at.

Versions v5 and earlier are easier to spot than v7. Our coverage is best on current models and continues to improve as new versions land.

When Midjourney detection gets hard.

Heavily edited Midjourney outputs, screenshots of screenshots, and photoreal style references that mimic a camera image are all harder cases. When the result is uncertain, we tell you. We do not fake a confident answer when the signals are weak. That is not useful.

Frequently asked.

Does it work on Midjourney v7?
Yes. v7 is fully covered. Earlier versions (v5, v6) are also detected, often with higher confidence because their visual fingerprints are more distinctive.
What if the Midjourney image has been edited in Photoshop?
Heavy edits reduce confidence. Light retouching (color correction, cropping) usually does not affect the detector. Heavy compositing or AI-cleanup may push the result into the uncertain range.
Will it detect Midjourney Niji (anime)?
Yes. Niji outputs have distinctive characteristics that the detector recognizes.
