Free DALL·E Detector. Detect OpenAI DALL·E images.

OpenAI stamps most outputs with cryptographic Content Credentials by default. Our free DALL·E detector reads those credentials when present and falls back to visual analysis when they are missing.

Content Credentials make DALL·E easy when present.

OpenAI was an early adopter of the cross-industry Content Credentials standard. Almost every image generated through ChatGPT, the OpenAI API, or the DALL·E direct interface includes a signed manifest declaring AI origin. When intact, the question resolves with verifiable certainty.

When the credentials are stripped.

Social media uploads, screenshots, and most editors remove embedded credentials. When that happens, we fall back to a visual analysis. Accuracy on the newer gpt-image-1 family is naturally lower because the outputs are more photorealistic. We surface that uncertainty rather than overclaiming.

Frequently asked.

Does it detect DALL·E 3 and gpt-image-1?
Yes, both. DALL·E 3 images often still carry Content Credentials which makes verification near-certain. gpt-image-1 outputs are more photorealistic and rely more on visual analysis but accuracy remains high.
What if the DALL·E image was downloaded from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT-generated DALL·E images usually preserve their Content Credentials. The detector reads these when present and resolves the question instantly.
Will it detect older DALL·E 2 outputs?
Yes. DALL·E 2 has distinct visual artifacts that the detector recognizes with high confidence.
